Daddy blog

I started this blog when I was following the Life Journal Bible reading plan on YouVersion. (I've since completed that plan.) At that time, YouVersion didn't provide any way for people to respond to my notes, other than to "like" them. So this blog is here to remedy that problem. You may comment on my notes here in the comment section.
I also have a general blog.

Persist through Persecution

6/2/11 Leviticus 1-3; Acts 13

S: Acts 13:49-52 The word of the Lord spread through the whole region. But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. So they shook the dust off their feet as a warning to them and went to Iconium. And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

O: Paul preached using the same method that Stephen had used back before Paul was saved -- he started from the OT and led up to Jesus. Some Jews believed but the majority did not. So Paul declared that He was going to preach to the Gentiles.

Many people were saved, but some Jews started a persecution and they were thrown out of Pisidian Antioch. But they were don't discouraged; instead, the disciples were filled with joy and they went on to preach in Iconium.

A: We will face opposition as we share the Gospel, but we should not despair if that happens, but be filled with the joy of God for those who are saved. For many years, I have been mindful not to be too pushy with the Gospel as I've seen how many people are turned away from the Gospel needlessly due to the lack of tact of believers. But there is a balance to be held.

P: Father, teach me the balance of being winsome and yet being bold to share the Gospel even when people are opposed.
