Daddy blog

I started this blog when I was following the Life Journal Bible reading plan on YouVersion. (I've since completed that plan.) At that time, YouVersion didn't provide any way for people to respond to my notes, other than to "like" them. So this blog is here to remedy that problem. You may comment on my notes here in the comment section.
I also have a general blog.

Abram and Melchizedek

Genesis 14
Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine: and he was priest of God Most High. He blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth: and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave him a tenth of all.

Genesis 14:18‭-‬20 WEB

There were people other than Abram who knew God.

Melchizedek, king of Salem (Jerusalem) knew God, unlike the Jebusites who had it centuries later when David conquered it.

The name "Melchizedek" means "King of Righteousness", and he was the king of Salem (peace) so people have pointed out that he is "King of Righteousnes and Peace".

Hebrews 5-7 says Jesus is a priest in the order of Melchizedek, because Jesus, like Melchizidek, is both king and priest. The kings of Israel and the priests of Israel were always different people, while Melchizidek, like Jesus, was both king of peace and priest of God Most High (El Elyon in Hebrew.)
