Daddy blog

I started this blog when I was following the Life Journal Bible reading plan on YouVersion. (I've since completed that plan.) At that time, YouVersion didn't provide any way for people to respond to my notes, other than to "like" them. So this blog is here to remedy that problem. You may comment on my notes here in the comment section.
I also have a general blog.

How do we treat foreigners?

Leviticus 19

If a stranger lives as a foreigner with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.

Here in Malaysia we so often victimize foreign workers. Even in the MCO, we see them especially victimized.

God loves all people and calls us to love the foreigner as ourselves.

In this chapter of Leviticus, we find some laws God gave to Israel that are not applicable to us, but there is much that is still applicable to us and the principles are repeated in the New Testament. This is one of them, Galatians 3:28 says "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Father, may we fight against injustice against the foreigners who come to our land honestly to earn a living. Help us stop their exploitation and treat them fairly. In Jesus' name, amen.
